Choose from our range of high-quality washbasins manufactured from stainless steel or ceramic that have passed the strict HTM64 and HTM04-01 regulations that govern their manufacture and installation. Be assured that our medical basins adhere to infection control measures and are created with durability and easy-to-use design in mind.
Our selection of hospital basins are suitable for other healthcare environments such as dentist and doctors surgeries as well as medical clinics and schools. They comply with the applicable regulations, including HTM 04-01 (Safe water in healthcare premises) and HTM 64 (Health Technical Memorandum 64 - guidelines specifically for the health care sector when refurbishing facilities). Some sinks have a horizontal rear outlet and others have a vertical waste outlet.
Medical basins are usually mounted to a wall or IPS duct panels with the waste and water feed pipework connected from behind. Medical sinks FAQs
How to clean a hospital sink
It’s important to ensure that your medical basins are cleaned regularly to maintain good hygiene in your facilities and to keep your staff, patients and visitors safe from catching infections and diseases. Here’s a quick step by step guide on how to clean a hospital sink:
Gather all of the cleaning equipment you need (this will include cloths, buckets, gloves, an apron, a non-abrasive pad, cleaning agent, paper towels and warning signs to place in the area in case there are any water spillages posing a slip hazard.
Wash your hands before you put on your gloves.
Make up your cleaning agent.
Put up your warning signs so others are aware that the area could be wet and slippery.
Perform a visual inspection of the environment, looking for misplaced equipment, any scale on the taps and blockages which will need removing. You should also remove any rubbish from the area and give any personal items left by the medical basins to nursing staff.
Dry the area with paper towels before applying chemicals to prevent diluting the cleaning chemicals.
Wipe the tap with a cloth and use a tap filter to absorb any contaminants from the spout as water passes through.
Clean the basin with a new cloth
Note: you should change your gloves if they come into contact with any contamination.
