Disabled Toilet Accessories: Rails, Alarm Kits and more

We have been supplying disabled products and disabled toilet accessories for commercial washrooms such as schools, offices, local authorities and leisure centres for over 15 years and have developed a wealth of knowledge within the disability sector. Our products are suitable for the elderly and those with mobility issues.

Disabled toilet accessories such as shower seats and grab rails help to give those who are disabled more independence, comfort and privacy when using washroom facilities, helping to improve their quality of life. Our toilet room alarms offer people reassurance, so if they do need any assistance, they can simply pull the alarm’s cord to signal they need help, making disabled washrooms safer.

Disabled Toilet Accessories FAQ

What is a RADAR lock?

RADAR (Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation) locks are designed to keep disabled toilets free exclusively for those with disabilities so that they are kept clean and are less likely to be vandalised. You can only access a disabled toilet with a RADAR lock using a RADAR key which is available to those who are registered with a disability.

What is a RADAR key?

A RADAR key is what is required to open many disabled toilets in the UK (such as public washrooms at train stations and in shopping centres). Those who are registered with a disability can get RADAR keys so that they can access these toilets when they need to. Essentially, by having toilets with RADAR locks you prevent those who do not have disabilities from using the facilities, meaning disabled toilets are kept free and in a good condition.

What is a disabled toilet alarm system?

A disabled toilet alarm system allows those who are using disabled toilets to raise an alarm if they need assistance or there’s an emergency. These alarms are designed to be accessible and easy to use as all a person needs to do to operate the alarm is pull on the cord attached. It’s also worth noting that non-domestic disabled toilets must include an emergency assist alarm.

How wide should a shower seat be?

Shower seats can provide disabled users with more independence whilst showering and they are typically between 38cm - 50cm wide.
