How do I Clean and Change Uridan Waterless Urinal Blocking Fluid?

How do I Clean and Change Uridan Waterless Urinal Blocking Fluid?

The Uridan range of waterless urinals represents a global revolution in water-saving initiatives in the commercial washroom market. The system uses zero water with pay-back over a very short period of time (dependant on frequency of washroom use).

The installation of waterless urinals means no connection to the mains water supply. Instead of relying on freshwater to rinse your urinals through, odour prevention and sanitisation is taken care of by a cartridge that fits into the waste outlet.

Many businesses choose waterless urinals for the strong economic savings they bring, particularly across a large campus or multi-site organisation. With sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility measures being taken more seriously than ever, the switch to waterless is proving an increasingly popular move.

The technology relies on regular maintenance, with a robust cleaning regime being essential. Changing of the blocking fluid is also vital in preventing smells and blockages.

Here we explore the process involved in both cleaning and changing of Urilock blocking fluid.

Cleaning:

  • Spray Uriclean® on the urinal waste cover and throughout the urinal bowl/trough.
  • Leave for a moment to react.
  • Clean by brushing circularly with a conventional brush.

Changing:

  • Open the urinal waste cover using the hook supplied, submerging in clean bucket of water.
  • Remove angular pipe and clean waste trap thoroughly. Rinse through with clean water.
  • Re-install angular pipe and fill odour trap with water until it flows over the top of the angular pipe.
  • Replace cover and pour Urilock over. Wipe clean.

This maintenance is only required after every 6,000 uses approximately. Additionally, for general maintenance and cleaning, simply spray Uriclean on the urinal surface and wipe clean. It’s a simple, easy-clean method that keeps your waterless urinals sparkling and free from deposits and surface buildup.
