FAQs

What products do you sell for commercial shower units?

Here at Commercial Washrooms, we sell a wide range of products from trusted industry brands, such as Bristan, Delabie and Rada, including:

Looking to refurbish your washroom? We offer a full supply and fit service so can provide and install the perfect commercial showers for your needs.

How long should a shower unit last?

A shower unit should last many years providing it is well maintained. You may just need to replace shower parts to ensure your facilities are up to standard. For example, it’s recommended that shower heads are replaced every 6-8 months due to the build-up of bacteria and mould over time. At Commercial Washrooms, we stock high-quality commercial shower products from well-known brands to ensure your showers stand the test of time.

How to descale an electric shower unit

If your commercial shower unit has limescale, you can use a cleaning solution designed specifically for treating limescale or vinegar. All you need to do is soak a cloth with the solution and wipe the surface of the electric shower.

Why is my shower leaking from the unit?

Common reasons why your commercial shower units could leak include:

  • There could be a water supply leak (this is often caused by connections not being fitted correctly to the shower)

  • A faulty shower head (which could be due to a build-up of a mineral deposit, or a damaged cartridge. You should also ensure the shower head is positioned correctly).

  • A faulty shower tray (which could be due to issues with the sealant)

  • A dripping mixing valve (which could be down to the tap washer being loose or damaged, a damaged O-ring)

  • Issues with the grouting (for example, there could be gaps or cracks in the tile grouting.

If your commercial shower unit is leaking, you may need replacement shower parts. Please do not hesitate to contact our team if you’re looking for a particular product.

What is a thermostatic shower?

A thermostatic shower will maintain the same temperature whilst a user is showering. It will protect them from any changes in the water supply so the water does not become too cold or too hot. Thermostatic mixing valves are a safer option for washrooms, particularly in facilities designed for the elderly, those with disabilities or children.
