Squires Garden Centre Toilets - Case Study

Squires Garden Centres are a family-owned horticultural business with 16 sites across London and throughout the home counties. As part of their ongoing maintenance and development works, we have been steadily working with the business since 2016.

Our relationship with Squires Garden Centres has seen us supply the washrooms for several sites, including Woking, Twickenham, Badshot Lea, Milford, Hersham, Stanmar and Washington. These ongoing works will see the washrooms throughout the business transformed into a modern, functional standard boasting high hygiene specifications and robust durability.

Following CAD drawings and 3D visuals, we were able to deliver a specification that would work across all of Squires locations. However, Squires choose to oversee their own renovation works. This meant they were responsible for the removal of existing washrooms, the coordination of trades, and phased installation processes. This left Commercial Washrooms to supply washrooms that met their exacting standard across all sites.

Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) is used for both cubicles and vanity unit construction due to its high durability credentials and the fact it is completely impervious to water. This means it will never swell or weaken from ingress moisture, delivering a robust finish that will stand the test of time.

Solid surface vanity tops with integrated washbasins are selected for robustness, but also because they make the hand wash area much easier to clean. As well as DUCT sets to conceal all services and pipework, we supply Profile 21 close coupled toilet pans with a lever-operated flush while in the men's, we also include exposed trap urinals.

For accessible washrooms, we supply a full Doc-M pack. This includes all of the relevant fixtures and fittings in order to comply with Document-M of Building Regulations. This includes grab rails that are of a contrasting colour to the walls, making it easy for the visually impaired to make them out, as well as a small washbasin with a lever-operated tap. The toilet pan is also of an accessible-height, while a drop-down grab rail also makes transferring on and off the toilet easier for wheelchair users.

At the Squires Garden Centre in Badshot Lea, the client opted for a full-height SGL cubicle from our Stature collection. This makes for a very clean smart and contemporary finish, but also gives users more privacy. These were in a woodgrain finish, adding an executive feel to the completed washrooms.

Our ongoing relationship with Squires Garden Centres has allowed us to supply an incredibly hard-wearing washroom to the business while maintaining a sophisticated and contemporary aesthetic. This supply-only contract has seen the business manage their own renovation and installation works with the added assurance of high-quality washroom products that can be relied on.
