Dyson Airblade 9kJ Hand Dryer

The new Dyson Airblade 9kJ is a revolutionary hand dryer designed to be the quietest and most power-efficient dryer available to the commercial washroom market.

The Dyson digital motor spins up to 75,000 times a minute, creating 388 mph sheets of air. The user’s hands are positioned below the two 0.45 mm curved apertures that follow the contours of the hands, removing water quickly and hygienically onto the wall and floor below.

The 9kJ hand dryer uses 9.1 kilojoules of energy per dry, meaning it costs just £19 a year to run in its Eco mode. The alternative to the eco mode is the Max Mode which is designed for use in particularly busy washrooms with high footfall and achieves even more rapid dry times. This dryer produces up to 85% fewer CO₂ emissions than single-use paper towels and costs up to 99% less to run, which in turn creates a better environment in your washrooms and the world outside.

With a fleece-lined glass fibre HEPA filter, the 9kJ captures 99.95% of particles, including bacteria and viruses, from the washroom air. This is the quietest Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer available and features silencers made from open-cell foam and perforated discs, reducing noise as the airflow passes through the motor.

Setting the Power Mode

Installers have 2 options to set the power mode (via an internal switch) – Eco and Max. Max mode will achieve a dry time of 10 seconds and operates at 900W. Eco mode will achieve a dry time of 12 seconds and operates at 650W (uses only 9.1kJ of energy per dry). Eco mode is often used in office environments and less frequently used washrooms whereas Max mode is suited to airports and stadiums where higher concentrations of people need to be moved through the washroom areas.
