Our full height MFC back to wall toilet Integrated Plumbing Systems (IPS) module pack offers a complete solution for projects where concealed toilet plumbing and services are required. With a simple five-step installation, it is easy to specify and install and can save up to 20% in cost when compared to traditional methods, while at the same time saving valuable time on site.

This back to wall WC is designed to be used with a concealed cistern which sits behind the IPS panel. The IPS pre-plumbed manufactured module includes a self-supporting frame, plumbing, sanitary ware, supply and soil connections and all fixings. On-site, the modules are lightweight and easy to handle, making installation even quicker. As this back to wall WC IPS is made from MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard), it is durable and easy to maintain and clean.

To complete the job, a qualified plumber can simply make the final connection between the water supply and soil pipework to the pre-plumbed cistern and sanitary ware. These are to be fitted by trained washroom installers and commissioned by qualified plumbing contractors.

Includes MFC panel finish. Colours are from our standard Formica and Polyrey colour range (PDFs attached).

The system is available as full height (up to 2400mm). Units are manufactured to order and can, therefore, suit site-specific measurements and bespoke room sizes. So, no matter how much space your bathroom has, we can deliver a back to wall WC with IPS panels that cater for your needs.

An additional delivery charge will apply, depending on site location. See the attached location map for guidance.

Back to wall WC FAQs

What is a back to wall toilet?

A back to wall WC is a type of toilet which is installed directly onto a wall or cistern unit specially designed to support the WC, concealing the pipework and offering a seamless appearance to suit any modern washroom facilities.

How to fit a back to wall toilet

Note: we recommend that a qualified plumber installs the back to wall WC to ensure it is fitted correctly and the bathroom is not damaged.

Here’s a brief outline of how to fit a back to wall WC:

  1. Fix the plumbing - this involves mounting the cistern to the wall which will then connect to the toilet pan.

  2. Install the DUCT set, fixing IPS panels to the framing.

  3. Mark around the toilet pan against the IPS panel and cut where your flush controls will be located.

  4. Fit the toilet pan to the floor - once the IPS panel is in place, prop the toilet pan up and ensure the waste and flush pipes are within reach. You can then mark the floor through the holes on the side of the pan’s base so you know where to install the fixings.

  5. Remove the back to wall toilet and drill the holes (through the areas you have just marked out on the floor).

  6. Install the toilet pan into place and connect all the internal plumbing.

  7. Secure the pan in place with the floor fixings.

Here at Commercial Washrooms, we offer a full toilet supply and fit service. So, if you’re considering refurbishing your commercial washroom, we’re here to help. You can find more details on how to install a back to wall toilet here.

Where is the cistern on a back to wall toilet?

The cistern on a back to wall toilet is located behind the wall or IPS unit. You can access a concealed toilet cistern by locating the toilet cistern’s push button and removing the cover plate.

What are the benefits of a back to wall WC?

Installing back to wall WCs in your commercial bathroom can have several benefits, including:

  • They’re compact - a back to wall WC is a space efficient option for a bathroom as pipework is situated behind the wall, freeing up more room.

  • They conceal pipework - as the pipework is concealed within the wall, a back to wall toilet means you don’t have any unsightly pipework on show.

  • They have a smart and modern design - thanks to their seamless appearance, they are perfect for contemporary bathrooms in homes, offices, schools and more.
