With cleanliness being a top priority in any restaurant, hotel, school, and especially commercial washrooms, it’s important to provide washroom users with a way to effectively wash and sanitise their hands. This blog will quickly outline how to refill soap dispensers easily.
The exact method for refilling a soap dispenser will vary and likely depend on whether you have a countertop- or wall-mounted dispenser. Please refer to the manufacturer's installation manual for a specific guide.
Refilling the Soap Dispenser
- The first step will be to check under the soap dispenser, behind the nozzle and push the bar of the dispenser. You should see a small bar or lever on the top or bottom of the dispenser, near the wall. If you push this lever while gently pulling the top of the dispenser towards you, the top should come away from the wall and hang down.
- Inside the soap dispenser should be an empty plastic soap bag, which needs to be removed. Do this by simply sliding the nozzle out of its slot and removing it by hand; throw it away. Set the new soap bag on the platform that was just housing the old one. Alternatively, in a bulk-fill dispenser, you may find a solid plastic container that should be retained and refilled (move to step 4).
- Assuming a new soap bag is to be installed, slide the plastic nozzle into the slot where the old one was, making sure to press the nozzle all the way in to secure it. The bag should also be seated evenly on the platform with no edges sticking out the sides.
- Close the front of the dispenser by swinging it back in place and pressing it firmly.
- Now you just need to test the dispenser to make sure everything is in order; press down on it to check that it’s working. If it isn’t, simply reseat the soap bag on the platform until it starts working as it should.
